Vanity
*A tongue in cheek poem inspired during a period of time
when the Chinese Sugar Girl forgot to take care of herself,
and caught a glimpse in the mirror afterwards!

Where and what would a girl be,
Without so simple a thing as Vanity?
Why, poets would have nothing to write about,
And lovers fail to woo her in a crowd;
Her hair would hang bored and black,
Her back without pride go slack;
Her palms would splay out coarse with callouses,
Her gait sprawl wide and careless;
Her face would display a ghastly truth-(not all God's creatures are beautiful)
She'd never be late for a meeting, of course,
Still she'd be a sight for which to pause,
And gaze at with gaping bafflement,
Before each tries to lose that sad sad moment;
Because it would then be plain to see,
A girl would be Nowhere without her Vanity!
